HOW THIS WORKS
Use the options to fully customize the fabrics, colors, and features of your ULA Circuit to match your style and how you adventure. Next, add on any accessories you need – water bottle pockets, hydration pouch, stash pocket, hand loops, etc. Once you check out, we’ll build it exactly how you made it!
Choose from dozens of Robic, Cordura, X-Pac, or EcoPak fabrics, two buckle colors, ten shock cord colors, 2 stretch mesh options, and multiple strapping options. Note that colors may be slightly different than they appear online. As different fabrics have different weights, the weight of your custom pack will vary from the weights given for non-custom packs.
Your customized pack’s hipbelt, spacer mesh, shoulder straps, and webbing will remain solid black. All custom packs come with a standard hydration port.
Custom packs are final sale; no returns.

STRAP KITS
All ULA packs now come standard with the loops needed to add a removable top Y-strap and dual bottom straps. Fabrics
400 ROBIC
Our ULA Robic 400 is the toughest standard fabric we’ve ever seen and the fabric we use to make the packs in our pack line. Highly tear and abrasion-resistant, ULA 400 Robic is reinforced with a ripstop weave, increasing tear strength and stitch holding capabilities. Low stretch, this is the perfect fabric for making backpacks, day packs, duffles, and pouches; that’s why we use it! This 100% Robic Nylon fabric has a 3 pass Teflon DWR (Durable Water Repellent) and a 3 pass PU (Polyurethane) Coating, making it highly water-resistant.
COLORS: Red Robic, Green Robic, Teal Robic, Purple Robic, Grey Robic, Diamond Black Robic
500 CORDURA CAMO
Our 500 Cordura Camo fabrics are made of 100% high tenacity 6,6 filament nylon fibers making them super strong and resistant to abrasion. This fabric is water repellent, thanks to a polyurethane coating. The Cordura does not have a ripstop grid making it not quite as tear-resistant as the Robic. It is also a little heavier than the Robic, adding an extra 2 oz to the total pack weight. Cordura fabrics have been tested in some of the harshest environments, including military applications.
COLORS: Cordura Multicam Camo, Cordura Woodland Camo
X-PAC
Our X-Pac Fabrics include Terrain X-Pac™ VX21, Ripstop Soft X-Pac™ VX21 RS, High Visibility VX25, Rugged X-Pac VX42™, and Camouflage X-Pac X50™. Following is a description of each fabric type, and the current colors available in our customizer.
What is X-Pac™ fabric? Like DCF (Dyneema Composite Fabric), X-Pac™ has its roots in the sailcloth industry where most ultralight, ultrastrong, waterproof fabrics are born. Developed and distributed by Dimension-Polyant, X-Pac™ is a composite fabric comprised of multiple layers of fabric laminated into a single sheet of fabric. The layers in X-Pac™ consist of a Nylon, Cordura, or Polyester face fabric, an X-PLY™ mesh, a waterproof film and a taffeta backing with a water-resistant coating. This technology makes X-Pac ultralight, ultrastrong, abrasion and tear resistant, and highly waterproof. In short, it’s perfect for making outdoor gear, and we think you’ll like it!
TERRAIN X-PAC™ VX21
Terrain X-Pac VX21™ Fabric is one of the most popular high-performance technical fabrics in the industry. The combination of low stretch, waterproof construction, and 210 denier face fabric strikes a near-perfect balance between weight and durability, making Terrain X-Pac VX21™ fabric ideal for backpacks, rain gear, cycle bags, stuff sacks, pouches, and many other outdoor gear applications. If you’re looking for a fabric with a softer hand, try the Ripstop Soft X-Pac VX21 RS™. This laminate fabric is comprised of the following layers: C6 DWR 210 Denier Nylon Face, Black Polyester X-Ply™ at 22°, 0.25Mil PET Film, and a 50 Denier Polyester Taffeta Backing.
COLORS: Port, Red, Federal Yellow, Coyote Brown, Dark Green, Bahama Blue, Dark Blue, Purple, Black, White
RIPSTOP SOFT X-PAC™ VX21 RS
Ripstop Soft X-Pac VX21 RS™ Fabric features a softer hand than the standard Terrain X-Pac™ VX21, while the addition of the ripstop weave increases tear strength and stitch holding capabilities. While it is rated slightly less high in abrasion resistance than the VX21, it’s tear strength is higher thanks to the ripstop checker pattern. The Ripstop Soft X-Pac VX21 RS™ is low stretch, waterproof, and the 210 denier ripstop Nylon face make this fabric ideal for backpacks, rain gear, cycle bags, stuff sacks, pouches, and other outdoor gear. This laminate fabric is comprised of the following layers: C6 DWR 210 Denier Ripstop Nylon Face with Polyester & PU Waterproof Coating, Black Polyester X-Ply™ at 22°, and a 50 Denier Polyester Taffeta Backing.

1. TORSO FIT
- Standing upright, tilt your chin to your chest.
- Locate your C7 Vertabra—the large lump at the base of your neck.
- With flexible tape, measure down the length and natural curvature of your spine to your iliac crest/ the top of your hipbone.
- This measurement in inches is your torso length.
TIP: If you're between 2 sizes, order the smaller size. Still not sure? Contact us.
2. TORSO CHART
We've found most people in these height ranges fall into these torso/pack sizes. That being said, it is always best to measure your torso using the guide above.
If you're between sizes and you are getting a FRAMED pack, we recommend you size DOWN!
If you're between sizes and you are getting a FRAMELESS pack, we recommend you size UP!
If you have questions, or your torso size doesn’t seem to make sense for your height, please contact us.
3. HIPBELT FIT
Use the following method to determine your hipbelt inches, then head to Step 4 to see the hipbelt size you need.
MEN
Pant Waist Size + 2".
WOMEN
CURVY HIPS: Smallest part of your waist + 5".
STRAIGHT HIPS: Smallest part of your waist + 3".
KIDS
Smallest Part of waist + 2".
4. HIPBELT SIZE CHART
Find the hipbelt measurement you calculated in Step 3 on the chart. That will be your hipbelt size.
TIP: If you are on the outer edge of a size, order the larger size. [ Ex: If you are 38", you will notice 38" is the last number of the Medium Hipbelt and the first number of the Large Hipbelt. You would want to order a Large.]
5. SHOULDER STRAPS
The downward slope of your shoulder profile usually determines strap preference. You can assess your shoulder slope profile by looking in a mirror or having a friend look at the angle of your shoulder from the base of your neck to your shoulder point.
If there is relatively little or no downward slope, you have what is referred to as flat or squared shoulders.
If there is a noticeable downward slope, you have what is referred to as standard or sloping shoulders.
J STRAPS
J-straps are the traditional straight straps. They are best suited for people with flat or square shoulders, as their flat shape provides better surface contact and less rub.
S STRAPS
S-straps contour body curves. They are best suited for people with standard or sloping shoulders, as their contoured shape better hugs your shoulder slope.
TIP: If you have a short torso but a larger upper body, you may need a slightly longer strap. If you are very large in the upper body, you might need XL shoulder straps. Contact us, and we would be happy to make these customizations so your pack is comfortable and fits well.
COLORS BELOW MAY NOT BE EXACTLY AS SHOWN. COLORS CHANGE OVER TIME AND SCREEN RESOLUTION, BRIGHTNESS, AND CONTRAST MAY ALTER COLOR. TO VIEW ACTUAL FABRIC SWATCHS, PLEASE CHECK OUT OUR FABRICS PAGE.
